Finland's Marita Lindahl was not only tall and heavy, she was described as having "the haunting beauty and intrigue of a Greta Garbo" by Eric Morley himself. She later married a publicity manager from her country and ran one of the most popular restaurants in Helsinki. Charlotte Sheffield of the United States, who was not among the finalists in this year's pageant had earlier missed the opportunity to compete at Miss Universe so she was sent to Miss World.
