Miss World 1964

Ann Sidney
UNITED KINGDOM

The United Kingdom's Ann Sidney was said to have legs that would have been the envy of any major Hollywood star. She was said to be one of the best Miss World titleholders, carrying out her duties and obligations competently. Hoping to make her mark in the film world as a serious actress, Ann had nixed several movie offers after her reign citing them as just being "walk-on" or cameo roles. She finally succeeded in grabbing a major role in a 1967 James Bond film. She also had the opportunity of performing in Las Vegas as part of a successful song and dance partnership. Two unusual countries surprised the world when their representatives became semi-finalists that year: Liberia and Montserrat. Liberia would have to wait 35 years to have another Miss World finalist.
