Holland's Catharina Lodders, a green-eyed 37-23-37 brunette fashion model, said modestly: "I don't think I'm the most beautiful girl in the world … I am the most beautiful girl here." Exclaimed Holland's second Miss World Catharina Lodders, another fashion model back in her country. Bob Hope was among the seven judges, most of whom were British. Miss United Kingdom, Jackie White, did not advance from the semi-finals into the Top 7 despite the British majority. The first runner-up, Finland's Kaarina Marita Leskinen, was the reigning Miss Scandinavia.
