The pageant, held in the Seychelles, probably was the most spectacular ever. It redefined the image of international beauty pageants and became a favorite for many. Linor, a surprising winner, made headlines in the World's major newspapers and magazines when she admited having been raped only two months before the pageant. The man responsible for the crime was judged and is now in prison. Miss World became a role model for women everywhere who have suffered some kind of sexual abuse.
